“…The Last 3 Days Unforgettable!”
Sierra Mac made the last three days unforgettable! Myself and three good buddies joined Tom and Jordan on the rafting/camping 2 night trip. The amount of time put into the meals alone made the trip more than worth it. Furthermore, it was some of the best whitewater rafting I have taken part in. I highly recommend the three day trip over just a day. Be sure to bring games and fishing equipment. (A plethora of brown and rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, and pike minnow). Thanks again to Marty, Tom, and Jordan for the trip of a lifetime!!!

“A perfect adventure close to Yosemite!”
Me and my boyfriend had never rafted, but wanted to give it a try. We were in town for a week long Yosemite visit/backpacking and wanted another adventure for our visit. They were super responsive/helpful in us deciding if this was something we could do (only trip that fit our schedule was class V). We had an amazing time, guides were so helpful/knowledgeable and made sure we stayed safe. The swim test was the most intimidating/scary part, but we definitely understood it was necessary for that type of trip. Lunch after was awesome too.We got so many videos/pictures right after the trip. Definitely would recommend! We drove an hour from our hotel- it was easy to find/get to and worth the cost/drive

“Cherry Creek White Water Rafting”
This was the most adventurous white water rafting river trip I have ever taken. I have been white water rafting for over 30 years in the Americas. I have concentrated on the top rivers and have done the Gauley 14 times since it is close and a top river. I did the Futaleufu rver in Chile in 2013 with Earth River Expeditions—-it is one of the top rivers in the world. Looking for more adventure Eric at Earth River recommended Sierra Mac and the Cherry Creek. A first class guide and the owners son Tom McDonnell worked for Eric on the Futaeufu. Also Tom has done the Zambezi in Africa and many other rivers around the world. I was extremely fortunate to have him as our guide. I must say this was the most challenging and exciting river trip I have taken. It had an amazing 14 Class V rapids. Also I can not say enough about Sierra Mac. They are a first Class River Outfitter with outstanding guides. It should be noted this it is not for the faint at heart individual. One last note Tom is a great guide—–if you can get on his raft do it. – Norvel S Aiken South Carolina
Great time of year to enjoy a fun but not dangerous ride down the river. Water was around 1500-2000 cfs. Our guide was great. Jeff really made a lot of effort to instruct, inform and inspire. Great job, bro! Lunch was the bomb with lunch meats and cheese with all the fixings. Thank you for a great day.
highly recommend Sierra Mac!!!
“Labor Day Ladies Trip”
REVIEWED on TripAdvisor September 2019
Four of us ladies headed out on an adventure…river rafting. We selected Sierra Mac and had the time of our lives, which we had documented by Sierra Mac via GoPro. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, as were the guides. We had an all ladies trip!!! Our guides were Tricia and Ray (Rachel). Our guides were amazing. They knew the river, flora and how to cook. We spent 3 days on the river and 2 nights under the stars. I highly recommend Sierra Mac!!!”
“Most exciting whitewater rafting in the US”
The Cherry Creek rafting trip is most likely the most exciting whitewater rafting you can do in the United States on a commercial trip. It’s absolutely top notch!
“Highlight Of Our Honeymoon”
My partner and I went on a one-day trip down the Tuolumne River on Labor Day weekend 2014. This was one of the highlights of our honeymoon. The drive from the pick-up point to the river is somewhat terrifying, as they like to point out. The river guide we had (whose name I can’t remember, unfortunately) was brilliant, controlling the boat while letting us (there were 5 passengers) think we were being useful. The rapids were super-impressive, especially when we surfed back into a rapid at one point. Brilliant day out!!! — N1Lad., Senior Contributor, London

“Highlight of entire visit”
This is an incredible experience, with 18 miles of rafting. One thrill after another. Our guide Jordan was amazing. His catch phrase was: “You have to row, this isn’t Disneyland!” And he was right! This is not a tour to take if you want to sit back and let someone do the work. This is hands on, and he talked us through each approaching rapid and told us exactly what to do. We felt completely safe, and it was awesome to actually be doing the work ourselves. Before going out, there are a lot of safety briefings and checks, including each of us jumping in, swimming, and getting pulled back into the raft from the water so we would know how to do it. (We never had to use the skill in “real life, btw.) The trip is broken up by a nice lunch, ours was a buffet of sandwich breads, meats, cheese, and condiments…anything I could think of that someone would like on a sandwich was there. A very nice spread, even for vegetarians. When there was a break in the rapids, Jordan let my partner jump in the water and hold on to the raft and float along. We were there the last weekend of June, and the water was cold and refreshing in the sun. You will get soaked, and that is part of the fun. they offer jackets which make a big difference. The bus trip is about 45 min to the water’s edge from where you park your car. It is a scary but pretty drive. There is a lot to see from the raft, including a lot of geological highlights Jordan pointed out. Definitely do this trip and experience the thrills and beauty of the ride, and customer service if this family owned company. – Lorry L. Level 5 Contributor Chicago Illinois
“Bachelor Party Weekend”
Just back from my bachelor party weekend, with a 2 day trip down the main tuolomne river….and what a great trip! 2 days of some great whitewater, with excellent guides (in my boat, Adam was super nice and calm, and did a great job guiding us down the river), complimented by GREAT food (lots of fresh fruits and vegetables; poached wild salmon and excellent steak for dinner; hot breakfast; chicken soft tacos) and great things to do along the way – lounging in the river, jumping off rocks, exploring an old mining shaft.) I was expecting that it was going to be nonstop rafting for 2 days, but the pace is much more relaxed, with a long period of free time in the afternoon on day one after some intensely fun rapids, and the morning of day 2. It turned out to be a great mix, and made for a relaxing and fun weekend. (Note that it is a full 2 days – you finish by about 5:30pm on day 2). Everything was handled professionally, and the guides and staff really enjoyed what they were doing. Lots of great memories. Will be finding a time to try Cherry Creek in the future! — Dan N., Oakland, CA
“our guides were excellent”
Went on the 2 day river rafting trip in June starting on the class V Cherry Creek and then meeting up with my wife and teenage daughters and other friends for class III and IV Rapids that afternoon and the following day. My prior rafting experience consisted of the Truckee River so I was nervous taking on Cherry Creek! The team from Sierra Mac had a great training session before we hit took off down the river letting you know what to expect and practicing the skills you would need for a successful run. It was an unbelievable experience! The pictures of my 15 and 18 year old daughters, who where apprehensive about rafting, are priceless. Big smiles in every shot. My entire family and all our friends loved it. Our guides where excellent. Highly recommend Sierra Mac. — Sean O., San Jose, CA
“An experience that exceeded my expectations.”
This was my first time rafting and I’m glad it was with Sierra Mac. A few friends and I booked a two day adventure and had a great time from start to finish. Our guides (Heather, Rhea, and Daniel) were super knowledgeable and were fun to interact with. Our boat had Heather as our guide and she kept us safe, but allowed us to enjoy the river inside and outside of the boat. Meals were very good, filling, and made fresh with quality ingredients. I will definitely be back next year and I would also recommend this trip to anyone thinking of doing it. — Matt R. Palm Springs, California
